The Weather (Official Video)

Summer is over and the temperature is dropping. Daylight savings gave back an hour but took the sun with it, resulting in shorter and gloomier days. “The Weather” was written to help process through the seasonal depression that so many people struggle with during the fall/winter. It’s a song for those who can’t seem to muster up any holiday spirit. It’s a song for those who feel like they’re endlessly falling, just like the leaves from dying trees. It’s song for those who feel distant from their friends and family. “The Weather” is for those who don’t agree that this is “the most wonderful time of the year.”

Lyrics:

It’s getting darker, getting colder

The trees are barren, days are shorter

Am I sad because the weather

Or because things haven’t gotten better

You see the world’s going crazy

I have some friends who must hate me

‘Cause I’ve chosen grief and misery

Over their company

Oh I feel through it all

Every thought and emotion

Oh I don’t move at all

Stuck in fear and its notions

I’m alone and I’m lonely

Can’t fake happy ’cause that’s phony

Am I sad due to trauma

Would they try to blame it on my mama

In my head it’s getting hazy

I’m losing memories lately

Sleep all day yet I’m dreamless

Awake all night to fight my demons

Oh I feel through it all

Every thought and emotion

Oh I don’t move at all

Stuck in fear and its notions

It’s getting darker, getting colder

The trees are barren, days are shorter

To this feeling I am tethered

Think it’s more than just the weather

Oh I feel through it all

I feel through it all

I feel through it all

I feel it all

It’s getting darker, getting colder

The trees are barren, days are shorter

To this feeling I am tethered

But I’ll blame it on the weather
